Kanban is an intriguing idea that looks like it has a lot of potential when it comes to improving workplace efficiency. It seems that there is some conflict regarding how it was really developed. Most sites do agree that it was officially started by Taiichi Ohno with Toyota, but there are other places that seem to indicate that it was more of a team effort. In addition, it seems that it has been updated and changed over time in some important ways (especially for implementation in American manufacturing). So, do we still list Ohno as the true developer, or is it more complex than that?
